3D Archery on AsNard is our closest thing to a real competition: Olympic distances, live wind, and an arrow path simulated on the server with gravity and air drag. What you see on the target is what the physics decided, not a pre-written animation.

Rings and the X
The face scores 1 to 10 from outside in. At the very centre sits a smaller ring marked X: it scores the same 10, but when two archers tie a set, the X count decides who wins the shoot-off. At a high level, "shooting a 10" is not enough — you have to shoot the middle of the 10.
Set system, in plain words
- Each set is three arrows, and the higher total of that set takes it.
- The set winner gets 2 set points; if the two totals match, both players get 1.
- Whoever reaches 6 set points first wins — you do not always shoot all five sets.
- Level after five sets, each archer shoots one arrow and the one closest to the centre wins.
That structure means one disaster set will not lose you the match, but three steady sets will win it for your opponent. Consistency is worth more than a ceiling score.
How to read the wind
Wind speed moves up to 12 m/s and genuinely shifts the arrow. Two practical rules cover most of it:
- Against a headwind, aim slightly above centre — at 70 metres the arrow has plenty of time to drop.
- With a crosswind, aim off to the side the wind is coming from. In the Extreme mode the wind changes between arrows, so read it fresh every shot.
One more thing: the bow is tuned around a controlled draw. Releasing at a very low draw drops the arrow short, and over-drawing costs you angle control. A clean mid-range draw with a crisp release is what works at real ranges too.
Controls
- Space: draw and release. Holding it builds the draw.
- Shift: hold your breath — it steadies the sight picture.
- WASD or arrow keys: aim offsets.
- Esc: cancel the arrow when you realise mid-draw that the setup is wrong.
On mobile, dragging on the screen does both the aim and the draw.

There is also an arcade mode defined in the game, still marked "coming soon", so it is not on the online table list yet.
Moving target
Practice mode lets you put the face on a mover, with several presets of speed and pattern. It builds one habit fast: send the arrow where the target will be when it arrives, not where it is now.
Common mistakes
- Shooting before the sight settles: you have 25 seconds. One rushed arrow scores less than two calm ones.
- Ignoring Shift: holding your breath costs nothing and at 70 m it is the difference between an 8 and a 10.
- Treating all three arrows the same: use the first arrow to gauge the wind, then correct with the next two.
- Not watching the set table: at 5-1 up, protecting two sets beats chasing one 29-point set.
What is different on AsNard
- The arrow path is simulated server-side: gravity, air drag, release height and boss centre height are all in the maths.
- Pitch, yaw and draw are clamped to a legal range, so extreme aim values are recorded as the limit, not as extra skill.
- Archery has its own ranked ELO ladder, so ranked tables pair you with players at your level.
- Practice bots go from easy up to an Olympic-master level.
- If your connection drops, you have 45 seconds to return to the same match.
